Bleaching
VIRCOBLEACH PLUS SYSTEM

SUMMARY

VIRCOBLEACH PLUS SYSTEM is a new bleaching system developed by The VirklerCompany for continuous batch or jet systems.Actual plant run history has demonstrated average chemical cost savings of 15 to 20 percent over conventional systems. Additional costs savings are realized from greater lot-to-lot consistency and dramatic reductions in seconds and reworks.

VIRCOBLEACH PLUS SYSTEM consists of a series of new auxiliaries used in conjunction with Caustic, Silicate and Peroxide. The first auxiliary is VIRCOSCOUR NTS.This is a nonionic detergent system that has demonstrated excellent wax and soil dispersing properties. VIRCOSCOUR NTS is low foaming and provides for fast wetting and leaves the fabric highly absorbent. In addition, VIRCOSCOUR NTS can also be used in conjunction with Sodium Hypochlorite for Chlorine Bleaching.

The second component of the VIRCOBLEACH PLUS SYSTEM is one of two peroxide stabilizers. The primary stabilizer is VIRCO ASSIST PSD-998. In addition to providing for a controlled action of peroxide for bleaching, it minimizes wasteful decomposition of peroxide by the presence of metals such as iron, copper or magnesium. VIRCO ASSIST PSD-998 is suitable for use on JEMCO continuous ranges, jets, kiers, rope and open width ranges. Also, VIRCO ASSIST PSD-998 reduces hard silicate build up on the machines. Moreover, plant experience has demonstrated that continued use of VIRCO ASSIST PSD-998 will, over a period of time, disperse the old silicate build up and actually clean the machine.

An alternative stabilizer is VIRCOLENE PS-528. This product stabilizes peroxide to a greater extent and is designed for use in becks and cold pad applications where a slower decomposition of the peroxide is desired. VIRCOLENE PS-528 is also suitable in either low or no silicate systems.

Other components of the VIRCOBLEACH PLUS SYSTEM include VIRCOBLEACH LCA-514 and VIRCOKLEEN ACS-517. The first component is a liquid system designed to neutralize residual caustic from the fabric. The second component is an agent designed to demineralize residual metals from the fabric prior to processing.
